2009年の３月まで、イースト・ビレッジにおいて、60年代から80年代のビンテージを取り扱うブティックとして絶大なる人気を得ていた『Poppet（ポペット）』。その『ポペット』が、現在はブルックリンに移動し、来店に関してはアポイントメント制、それ以外のショッピングはオンラインで、というまったく新しいシステムに生まれ変わって注目を集めています。

『ポペット』のラインナップは、洋服をメインに、バッグや帽子などのファッション・アクセサリーのほか、バッグやジュエリーなどもそろっており、そのひとつひとつが、どれもとてもよい状態で保たれているのが『ポペット』の特徴のひとつといえるでしょう。70年代や80年代の、今ではすでに発見するのも困難なイヴ・サンローランやシャネル、ノーマ・カマリ、イッセイ・ミヤケなどのアイテムがビンテージ・ファンや有名スタイリスト達の注目の的ですが、驚くべきは、60年代のドレスやファッション・アクセサリーも非常にいい状態であるために、ビンテージ・ファンやスタイリストだけでなく、なんと、テレビや映画の衣裳担当チームや、博物館の職員やコレクターまでが来店するほどの素晴らしいラインナップであるということ。そのためもあって、2009年３月に移転したブルックリン店では、完全アポイントメント制がとられており、それぞれがゆっくりと店内を見てショッピングを楽しめるようになっています。そんな『ポペット』の店内は、まるでお姫様のお部屋のようにぎっしりとさまざまなアイテムで埋め尽くされており、店内の隅から棚の上まで何が転がっているか分からない楽しさも！　オンラインでもゆっくり品定めができるようになったのも嬉しい限りです。
