ニューヨークで“ダンプリング・ディーバ”といえば、知る人ぞ知る、『The Kitchen Club（ザ・キッチン・クラブ）』のオーナー・シェフをつとめるマーヤ・サムソンさんのこと。『ザ・キッチン・クラブ』とは、ノリータのエリザベス・ストリートとモット・ストリートの角に位置するランドマーク的な存在の、こじんまりとした可愛らしいレストランで、なんといっても、マーヤさんの作るオリジナリティー溢れるダンプリング（餃子）が有名です。このダンプリング、チャイニーズやジャパニーズ・レストランで見られるものとは大きく異なり、フィリング（具）がパンプキンとエダマメのPumpkin & Edamame Dumplings（10ドル）や、エビとほうれん草を包んだ Shrimp & Spinach Dumplings（12ドル）など、とてもユニークでおいしいダンプリングがメニューに見ることができます。また、メイン料理にも、お豆腐や梅干しを使った Pan Seared Tofu with Umeboshi & Spicy Soy Dip（19ドル）や、日本の解析弁当を思わせる　 Box Dinner Taste of Japan （24ドル）など、日本とヨーロッパの食文化の融合が見事に味わえるメニューが目白押しです。
そんな『ザ・キッチン・クラブ』でこの４月、“Dumpling Diva of New York”の別名を持つオーナー・シェフのマーやさん自らが教えてくれるクッキング教室が開かれます。お料理の内容は、もちろんダンプリング！　４月19日（日曜日）午後4時〜6時、20日（月曜日）午後6時〜8時、26日（日曜日）午後4時〜6時、27日（月曜日）午後6時〜8時、料金はワインかお酒のどちらか１杯込みでなんと30ドル（税、チップは別）という驚くほどのリーズナブルさ！　定員になり次第閉め切られるので、なるべく早く予約の電話をしてくださいね！（予約先／The Kitchen Club ・212-274-0025）
