タイムワーナー・ビルやリンカーン・センターがあったりと、ショッピングや観劇、コンサートなど、観光エリアとしても人気のアッパー・ウエスト。ここで、ニューヨークに住むギリシャ人やトルコ人から「おいしいグリーク・キュイジーヌがある」と噂のレストランが、ここ『Molyvos（モリヴォス）』。ギリシャ料理は、日本ではまだメジャーなキュイジーヌではありませんが、人種のるつぼであるニューヨークでは、”Mediterranean（地中海料理）”のひとつとして人気のあるキュイジーヌのひとつです。その大きな特徴は、やはり新鮮な魚介類をたっぷり使ったメニューが多いこと。また、オリーブの産地であることも有名で、年間の国民一人当たりのオリーブオイルの消費量が世界一でもあることから、どんなお料理にもたっぷりオリーブオイルが使われていることも、その特徴のひとつです。お肉料理も見逃せず、ギリシャでよく食べられる羊や、トルコやインド、パキスタンなどからの影響を受けたケバブ（カバーブ）に似たお料理も人気メニューのひとつです。

そんな『モリヴォス』では、”Molyvos Valentine’s Day menu”として、2月14日の土曜日に、バレンタインデーのためだけに用意された3コースのスペシャルディナーが味わえます。料金は１人60ドルで、プラス30ドルでギリシャのワインがサーブされます。もちろん、男女のカップルだけでなく、同性同士や親子、姉妹、などでもOK！
お料理の内容は、アペタイザーはメイン州のロブスターのサラダかローストしたビーツを使ったギリシャの家庭料理のどちらかを、メインはホタテのソテーかラムのローストのどちらかを選べ、最後には、ギリシャの定番デザートでフィニッシュ。こちらも、２種類から好きな方を選ぶことができます。時間は夕方5時から23時30分までの受付となっていますが、ただでさえ人気レストランなので、ご予約はお早めに！
バレンタインデー、というだけでも普段と違うオケイジョンですから、せっかくのロマンチックなバレンタイン・ディナーも、いつものイタリアンやフレンチから抜け出して、ちょっとお洒落にギリシャ・キュイジーヌで過ごしてみませんか？
