あまりにも外が寒いと、ついどこか、どこでもいいからコーヒーが飲めお店に入って、とりあえずあつ〜いコーヒーが飲みたい、という衝動にかられる人は多いことでしょう。でもここニューヨークには、どんなに外が寒くても、コーヒーが飲みたくても、ある目的の店を目指す人達がけっこういるんです。そんな、コーヒーフリークな人達から熱い支持を得ているコーヒーショップが、ここ『Roasting Plant（ロースティング・プラント）』です。

コーヒーフリークから愛されるわけですから、コーヒーがおいしいのはもちろんですが、なかでも、なぜ『ロースティング・プラント』がそこまで人気なのか、その人気の秘密は、「ジャバボット」にあります。ジャバボット？　と思った人も多いと思いますが、なんとこれは、『ロースティング・プラント』のオーナー、マイク・キャズウェルさんが5年の月日をかけて独自で作り上げた究極のコーヒーメーカー。家庭用の掃除機やロースターなどを改良し、コーヒー豆からの焙煎、挽く、いれる、のすべてが完結できるこのジャバボットは、豆のそれぞれの種類によっていれかたが違ってくるという、空気、湿度、時間などを微妙に調節し、豆それぞれの個性にあった状態でてきあがりまで導いてくれるという画期的なもの！　その名前も、コーヒーのまたの呼び名である“Java”とロボットをドッキングさせて命名したもの、というから納得です。こんなこだわりづくしのコーヒーですから、味のほうは言うまでもありません。そんなコーヒーやエスプレッソに、熱々のミルクを入れたり、ふわふわに泡立てたミルクを浮かべたり……　と考えただけでも『ロースティング・プラント』に直行したくなりますよね！
