普段は絶対見れない貴重なブロードウェイの裏側へ特別にご案内！ブロードウェイミュージカル評論家宮城佑次と行く、こだわりウォーキングツアー♪♪

ブロードウェイと言えば『ミュージカル』ですよね★ミュージカルを見る前に是非参加しておいて欲しいのがこのユニークな「ブロードウェイ・ウォーキングツアー」。参加された方からはよく「ミュージカルを見る前に参加すべきだった。」との声を頂きます。また、ミュージカルが大好き♪という方も大満足して頂けるツアー内容となっているんですよ☆☆では早速ブロードウェイへ出発しましょう！

集合場所はタイムズ・スクエア・インフォメーション・センター（７番街／４６丁目と４７丁目の間）。参加者全員が集まったら、ミュージカル評論家宮城佑次さんの自己紹介が始まります。もともと日本でダンス経験のあった宮城さんは１９８４年１１月、自身が２４歳の時にブロードウェイの舞台に立つ事を夢見て渡米。ニューヨーク到着時から毎日ミュージカルの事を考え、現在は【少しでも多くの日本人の方にミュージカルの素晴らしさを伝えたい！】という強い熱意でミュージカルを支援する様々な活動をしている方です。具体的にはテレビや舞台の製作に携わったり、ラジオ出演や日本の新聞・雑誌などにブロードウェイやミュージカルに関する多数の連載記事を執筆。また、ミュージカルに関する本も出版されています。さらに約１２５名からなるニューヨーク記者クラブ『ドラマ・デスク賞』の日本人初のメンバーでもあり、現在も在任中です。ブロードウェイの歴史やミュージカルの特徴、宮城さん自身の舞台経験のお話など、２３年以上ニューヨークに滞在し、ブロードウェイミュージカルを応援し続けてきた宮城さんならではの専門性溢れる説明を受ける事が出来ます。

さて、その後はいよいよ街中へ出て４２丁目の劇場通りへ向かいます。ここでも劇場が出来た頃の様子や、当時劇場がいくらで使用されていたか等の貴重な情報を知る事が出来ますよ♪説明の途中でクイズが出されたり、質問タイムもあるので、ブロードウェイミュージカルについて分からない事や聞きたい事があればいつでも質問して頂けます！

次はブロードウェイの演劇専門書店、『ドラマ・ブック・ショップ』へ移動。ここではミュージカルの脚本や楽譜・出演者募集広告や歴史についての本等が販売されています。また、このショップにはブロードウェイ関係者や舞台出演を目指している人達が数多く訪れる為、目的に合った芸能プロダクションの住所が全て印刷されたシールの束が販売されていたりします。こんなユニークな本屋さんはここだけではないでしょうか。さらにこのツアーではお店の地下へ入る事が出来、そこにはなんとオフ・オフ・ブロードウェイの舞台が広がっています！！さらに奥まで進んで舞台横まで行くと、舞台裏も見る事が出来るんです。また、実際にスポットライトをあびる事によって、舞台に立つ出演者の気分を味わえます☆

そして次に訪れたのは『ラドゥーカ・シューズ』。ここはニューヨークで活躍するプロダンサー御用達のブロードウェイ・ミュージカル専門靴屋さん★☆なんとオーナー自身が元ブロードウェイ出演者でもあり、ダンサーにとってのベストな靴を熟知しているとの事。華やかなブロードウェイ・ミュージカルの舞台を陰で支えている靴屋さんですから、とても大きなお店を想像されるかも知れませんが、実際は小さくて可愛らしいお店なんです♪店内にはラドゥーカが今まで靴を提供してきたミュージカルや映画の写真がずらりと飾られています。代表的な作品では『シカゴ』や『ヘアースプレー』、映画では『シカゴ』・『ドリーム・ガールズ』等でラドゥーカの靴が使用されています。もちろん一般の方もダンス・シューズをご購入して頂けますよ♪

そろそろお昼の時間。ここで『ラドゥーカ・シューズ』のすぐ近くにある可愛らしいカップケーキ屋さんでひと休みします★店内はレトロな雰囲気で、ケーキとコーヒー（紅茶）もとっても美味しい！ツアーの疲れを癒してくれます。
いよいよツアーも終わりに近付いてきました。最後に訪れたのは『アレル・スタジオ』。オーナーと知り合いの宮城さんのツアーだからこそ見学する事が出来るお店です。ここではブロードウェイ・ミュージカルのコスチュームを縫製していて、『マンマミーア』や『ザ・カラー・パープル』、『リーガリー・ブロンド』等、有名な演目のコスチュームも手掛けているんですよ♪♪実際に縫製している様子やデザイン画を見る事が出来、スタジオのオーナーと記念撮影もして頂けます。
