ダウンタウンを中心に、手軽でしかもおいしく、そしてなおかつどことなくキッチュなおしゃれさのあるピッツアリアとして人気の『TWO BOOTS（トゥー・ブーツ）』、1987年6月24日のイースト・ビレッジのオープンを第一号店に、“ニューオリンズ料理をピザとビールとを結合させたレストラン”をテーマに、その後、ウエスト・ビレッジは7番街と11ストリートやソーホー、ロウワー・イーストなどにも続々とオープンし続けた、ニューヨーカー が大好きなピッツアリアです。その人気の秘密は、ただ単に「ピザがおいしい」というだけでなく、ピザの生地にホールミール（全粒粉）を使ったものがあった り、トッピングの素材やコンビネーションに、普通のピザ屋のラインナップとはひと味ちがった工夫がされていること。こればっかりは、実際に行って食べてみ ないことには分からない！　というのが正直なところです。注目すべきは、この『トゥー・ブーツ』は、レストランやピッツアリアとしての活動だけではなく、音楽やアートなど にも積極的に力を注いぎながら、融合し続けている、というところ。たとえば、イースト・ビレッジのAvenue A店は、お店の外観にタイルや透明のかわいい石などが張られているが手作り風で、しかも店内では、８フィートもあるモニタで上映される映画が定期的に楽し めるという、いかにも“ニューヨークらしい”サービスもあります。それもそのはず、このショップと連結している隣の空間はレンタルビデオ・ショップになっ ていて、DVD化されていなかったり、またビデオとして数多く製造されていないとってもレアでマニアックな映画がぎっしりと並んでいます。また、ニュー ヨーク在住で、まだ世界デビューを果たしていない映画監督が撮った作品などもそろえられてあるので、マニアにはたまらない空間としても人気です。作品に よっては、ビデオ購入も可能なので、これぞ！　と思うものがあれば、スタッフに聞いてみましょう。帰りには、もちろんおいしいピザもお忘れなく！
