ニューヨーク１日市内観光 ～自由の女神のあるリバティー島に上陸して観光します～

せっかく訪れる世界の大都市ニューヨーク。ここで過ごす時間は一分一秒たりとも無駄にしたくない！ニューヨークの観光スポットを制覇したい！そんな願いを叶えてしまうのが、日本人ガイドがご案内する人気NO.1ツアー、「ニューヨーク市内一日観光」ツアーです。はじめは、いつも活気あふれるニューヨークの象徴的なエリア、タイムズ・スクエアを通り抜け、イースト・ビレッジの中心にあるワシントン・スクエア・パークへ。ここはニューヨーク大学のキャンパスにほど近く、学生や地元住民の憩いの場として知られています。そして、ソーホーやチャイナタウンなどのニューヨークのさまざまな街並みを車窓から観光しながら、午前中のメインの観光スポットである自由の女神像のあるリバーティ島へフェリーで行くために、バッテリーパークへと向かいます。

フェリーに乗ったら屋外のデッキエリアに出ることをおすすめ！なぜなら、フェリーのデッキからは、堂々とたたずむアメリカのシンボル、自由の女神像に近づいていくのがわかるからです。そして、島に着いたら、まずは自由の女神像を見上げてみましょう。全身をカメラにおさめるには、女神の足元を囲む芝生に寝転がらなければならないほどの大迫力です。

再びフェリーでバッテリーパークにもどると、グラウンド・ゼロやウォール街などビジネスマンと観光客が行き交うダウンタウンを観光して行きます。ちょうどお腹がすいてきた頃には、レンガ敷きのアンティークな町並みにレストランやブランドショップが建ち並ぶサウス・ストリート・シーポートへ。ここからは１８８３年に完成したブルックリン橋を眺められることもできる絶好のビュー・ポイントでもあるのです。

午後からはダウンタウンから再び北上し、国連本部や、故ジョン・レノンが住んでいたダコタハウス、そして聖ヨハネ寺院へ。なかでも、1873に建設が開始された聖ヨハネ寺院内のステンドグラスは息を飲むほどの美しさなので要注目です。さらに、一人ではなかなか行きずらいハーレムにも行き、無名時代のマイケル・ジャクソンがアマチュアナイトで熱唱した伝説の劇場、アポロシアターや、ハーレム独特の雰囲気を車窓から眺めて観光します。

帰り道は、メトロポリタンやグッゲンハイム美術館が並ぶミュージアム街を通り、まさに最後までニューヨークの見所満載のニューヨーク市内一日観光ツアー。ガイドさんが、それぞれの観光スポットの歴史や豆知識を教えてくれるのもこのツアーの嬉しいところです。ニューヨーク旅行をスムーズに効率良く
