ネイルアートが身近なものになったのは、まだまだ最近のこと。それまでは少し敬遠しがちだったネイルサロンですが、指先を美しく彩るネイルアートは今やファッション・コーディネイトの常識と言っても過言ではありません。実際に定期的にサロンに通い、爪のお手入れはプロに任せっきりという女性も増えています。今回は、そんな今注目のネイルアートで手に職をつけたい方や、趣味を充実させたい方のために、楽しみながらプロの技術を学べる「Christine Valmy International School of Esthetics」のネイルアートコースをご紹介します。
1965年に開校されたChristine Valmyニューヨーク校は、1940年代にヨーロッパで創立され、アメリカで最初の歴史ある美容専門学校です。由緒正しきこの学校の卒業生達は、確かな技術はもちろん、プロとしての強い意識も兼ね備えていると美容業界からも定評を得ています。
ネイルアートコースは、ニューヨーカーの忙しいスケジュールにフィットするようにお昼と夜の両方が用意されています。クラスは少人数制で、生徒達はプロのネイルアーティストを目指す人から、趣味を充実させたい人まで様々。爪の構造や殺菌法といった基礎理論から、ベーシックなフレンチネイルからエアブラシを使った上級デザイン、ぺディキュア、ハンド＆フットマッサージや、プロのネイルアーティストとしての心得やビジネススキルなどを一から教えてくれるプロフェッショナル・ネイルアーティスト育成コースです。初心者でも、もうすでにネイルアートの心得がある方でも、生徒一人一人のスキルに合わせてきめ細かい指導が受けられます。
「ネイルアートコースは日本人女性に特に人気で、１クラスに日本からの留学生が大体１〜２人はいらっしゃいますよ」と日本語の話せる留学生アドバイザーのパークさん。授業は全て英語で行われますが、英会話に不安があるという方でも授業前や後に気軽にアドバイザーに相談できるので安心です。
