解説
1975年の初演以来、トニー賞など数々の賞を受賞してきた人気ミュージカル「コーラスライン」。当時のブロードウェイにおけるロングラン公演記録を樹立しながらも、1990年4月28日にその幕を閉じましたが、2006年秋に約16年ぶりにブロードウェイに戻ってきた。リバイバル作品ながらも、その人気は衰えることなく、既にチケット入手の難しい演目のひとつとなっている。特に『One』は、世界中の人々に愛され、ミュージカルに興味のない人でも一度は聴いたことがある名曲である。本場ブロードウェイで「コーラスライン」を観劇されたい方は、早めにチケットを手配されることをおすすめする。

主な登場人物
ザック（新しいミュージカルを担当する演出家、キャシーの元恋人）、キャシー(かつてブロードウェイで脚光を浴び、針独活に進出するが挫折して、再度ブロードウェイでのオーディションに挑戦する)、マイク（お姉さんの影響でダンスを始めた青年）、ポール(スパニッシュ・ハーレム出身のプエルトリカン、自身の性について悩んで成長してきた青年)、ヴァル(毎冬恒例のレディオ・シティーのロケットガールに憧れて、田舎から出てくるが、ダンスは良いけど、ルックスはダメと言われ、豊胸手術を受ける)など。

あらすじ
舞台はニューヨークのブロードウェイ、将来のスターを夢見る大勢のダンサー達が新作ミュージカルのオーディションに挑戦する。合格しても主役ではなく、主役を彩る脇役に過ぎない。たった8人しかない合格枠を勝ち取るため、それでも、彼らはブロードウェイのステージに立つことに情熱を注ぐのだった。そして、最終オーディションまで残った17人のダンサー達に、演出家のザックはこれまでの自分の人生やバックグランドについて語るよう問い掛けるのだった…。
