マンマ・ミーア!（Mamma Mia!）は、偉大なポップミュージシャンABBA（アバ）のヒット曲22曲にて構成されているミュージカル。ダンシングクィーン、ザ・ウィナー、ティク・ア・チャンスなどなどお馴染みのナンバーに載せて踊るエネルギッシュなダンスが魅力的だ。今までのように、新たにミュージカル用に新曲を書き下ろすのではなく、既存のヒット曲を並べてストーリーを構成している。この形はジュークボックス・ミュージカルといわれ、ブロードウェイに新しいスタイル確立した作品。ビギナーにもおすすめのミュージカル。

あらすじ
エーゲ海の小島でホテルを経営するドナの一人娘ソフィは結婚式を明日に控えている。彼女は純白のウエディング・ドレスを着てバージン・ロードを父親にエスコートしてほしいと願っていたが父親が誰なのか母から知らされていない。ソフィは、母の若い頃の日記を盗み読みし父親の可能性がある中年男性三人の存在を知り、結婚式に招待する。式前日、島に友人達が続々と到着する。ソフィの親友達、ドナの昔の仲間達、そして、問題の3人の父親候補者達。ドナは、昔の恋人達が現れたのでパニック状態になる。彼女は、二十年前のそれぞれの男達との出会いと別れについて未だに心の整理がついていないのだ。男達は、ドナは昔のままだと歓喜し、実は島に招かれたのはドナの娘ソフィが父親を探すためだったのだと知る。そして、全員が自分こそソフィの父親であると確信するのだった。結婚式は、思わぬ展開を迎える…。
