“SEX AND THE CITY”ロケーション・ツアー

いまやアメリカだけでなく、日本でも人気のドラマ『Sex & the City』で、キャリーがこのお店の前でカップケーキをほおばるシーンが登場して以来、地元のお客さんから観光客までに大人気のケーキ屋さんが、ここ『マグノリア』。可愛らしいパステルトーンのカップケーキ(1.75ドル)は、そのカラフルさから選ぶのに困ってしまうほど！　カップケーキの上にのっているアイシングは、強い甘さに慣れていない日本人には衝撃的な甘さですが、味わえば、ふんわり＆しっとりしたカップケーキとの相性は抜群で、１個食べ終わると、くせになりそうな甘さだから不思議。店内はいつも混んでて、真冬でも列を作って順番を待つひともいるほどなので、寒くないこの季節は、お店の斜め向かいにある公園のベンチで食べることをおすすめします。店の周辺には、おしゃれなカフェや可愛いお店が建ち並び、このお店のほかにも『Sex & the City』に登場したお店を発見することができるので、ファンは必見ですね。そんな、流行に乗ったかのように聞こえるベーカリーですが、かの定番のグルメガイド『ZAGAT』のニューヨーク版では、2003年のデザート部門にて堂々の１位を獲得している実力派なのです。暑い季節の“強烈に甘いスイーツ”ですが、彩りの涼しげなアイシングを選んで、きーんと冷やしたアイスコーヒーと一緒に、おやつタイムを迎えたくなりますよね。
