44丁目の6番街とブロードウエイの間に位置し、ブロードウエイの各劇場にも徒歩圏内なので、昼はショッピングをして、ミュージカル鑑賞まえにホテルに戻ってちょっとひと休み、なんてこともできるし、観賞後もタクシーをつかまえるのに苦労するまでもなく、歩いてホテルまで帰ることができるのがこのホテルのオススメのひとつ。それが、タイムズ・スクエアまでわずか徒歩1分の、絶好のロケーションに位置する『Millennium Broadway（ミレニアム・ブロードウエイ）』。44丁目の正面玄関に入るとロビーは、45丁目まで真っすぐつながっており、44丁目側、45丁目側からも出入りすることができます。ホテルの歴史は古くはないのですが、じつはこのホテルの中には、ニューヨークのランドマークともいえる歴史的建造物があるのです。それは、今世紀初頭に建てられ、改装を重ねながらも今年102周年を迎えるハドソン劇場（Hudson Theatre）。現在は、人気番組“アメリカン・アイドル”のオーディション会場に使用されるなど、各種イベント会場として利用されているのですが、このハドソン劇場を建てたHenry B. Harris氏は、あの20世紀最悪の海難事故に遭った豪華客船タイタニック号の乗客のひとりだったとのこと。その悲しい事件が、なによりこの劇場の歴史の長さを物語ります。現在は、イベントなどがない限り宿泊客でも入ることはできませんが、機会があれば、ぜひ見てみたいランドマークのひとつです。
客室は、場所がらビジネスマンが数多く泊まることもあるためか、近代的なシティ・ホテルの雰囲気が漂っています。部屋ではハイスピード・インターネットも1日12.95ドルで利用でき、タイムズ・スクエアに近くとも、落ち着いた部屋の雰囲気で快適な環境を提供してくれます。長い時間をかけて、徐々に行われて来た改装工事も2006年には完了しおり、安心して快適に泊ることができます。ニューヨークを訪れるのが初めてで、ミッドタウンを中心に観光かた、ブロードウエイ観劇三昧がしたいかたにとっては、この立地は本当にオススメです。
