海外旅行の醍醐味のひとつに、その国ならではの異文化体験ができる、というものがあります。「せっかくなら憧れの都市で暮らすように滞在してみたい……」、と思われているかたは多いはず。そんなかたにオススメの滞在先が、今回ご紹介する『HERALD TOWERS（ ヘラルド・タワーズ ）』。場所はエンパイア・ステート・ビルディングや、コリアンタウン、メーシーズにも徒歩約1分の絶好のロケーションで、近くには地下鉄のラインが8本も走っており、さらにニューヨークと近郊都市を結ぶペンシルバニア駅も徒歩圏内で、滞在中は、まさに“どこへ行くにも便利”な立地です。ここをホテルと思われているかたも意外と多いのですが、じつはれっきとしたアパートメントで、多くのニューヨーカーが実際にここで生活をしています。ホテルではないので、ベッド・メーキングやタオル類の交換などはありませんが、３階にはコイン・ランドリー、部屋のクローゼンットには掃除機やモップなどもあって自分で何でもできるので、逆に、ハウスキーパーなどまったく知らない人が部屋を出入りすることがありません。そのため、気兼ねなく落ち着いて滞在することができるのです。また、部屋のキッチンには冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、調理用具一式に食器と一通りのものがそろっています。
お部屋のタイプは、スタジオ（STUDIO）と1ベッドルーム（1BED ROOM SUITE）の2タイプ。スタジオはフルサイズベッド1台 + ソファーベッド、1ベッドルームはクィーンサイズベッド1台 + ソファーベッドで構成されています。基本的に、ベッド2台の部屋はないので、2名以上での滞在の場合は、カップルやご夫婦、仲の良い友達同士でのお泊りをオススメします。1ベッドルームの場合、リビングルームがありお部屋も広く3名でも滞在が可能です。また、1ベッドルームのお部屋によってはリビングルームからの眺めが素晴らしく、ニューヨークらしい高層ビルの街並みを堪能できます。お部屋によって、家具の内容やインテリアは多少異なりますが、どの部屋も落ち着きのある雰囲気で、快適に過ごせます。部屋には部屋直通の電話も備え付けられており、加えて、市内通話料は無料なので、出張などで来られたビジネスマンのかたにもオススメです。
