今シーズン注目の新アイテムROMPER（ロンパー）

ニューヨークコレクションに続き、ヨーロッパでの2008年春夏コレクションウィークの熱も漸く落ち着いた、2008春夏コレクションウィーク。気が付けばニューヨークはすっかり秋模様で、セントラルパークも秋色に染まってきて衣替えの季節です。さて、今回は今季のコレクションの中で“おもしろいアイテムが流行の兆し！”というわけで、ニューヨークのみならず、ヨーロッパでもたくさんのデザイナーに取り上げられていたそのアイテム、ROMPER（ロンパー）について解説をしてみたいと思います。

1910年代、ロンパーは、カバーオールに似たシルエットで、子供服や婦人水着として生まれ、1950年代に最盛期を迎えたアイテム。カバーオールとの違いは、ルースなフィット感でありながら、ボトムのパンツはショート丈、裾がギャザーされていて一見ブルマーのようなシルエット、ということ。ニューヨークコレクションでは、先シーズンごろからジャンプスーツがあちこちのデザイナーに取り上げられていましたが、今季になってロンパーが注目の的。ニューヨークお得意の、スポーティーかつセクシーなエッセンスを加えたものは、とくに要チェック！　独特のキュートなシルエットをそのまま活かしたベッツィー･ジョンソンやモスキーノ、それらとは対照的にクールに現代的なロンパーを打ち出したデレック･ラムやアルマーニなど、そのバリエーションにも注目です。

また、一見コーディネートが難しそうですが、実は基本的に華奢なヒールのサンダルやパンプスがあれば間違いがないアイテムです。また、ジャケットを合わせればシャープな表情にもできます。ただ、太ももあたりの筋肉は冬の間に引き締めておきたいかもしれませんね……。私もそろそろ、紅葉の見えるセントラルパークにジョギングをしに行かなくては!?
